Along with a few hundred kids from around the county, Centennial’s  “Leaders for Change” attended the “Don’t Touch The Fire Symposium” to be inspired to become great thinkers and leaders.  Inspirational speakers and small group discussions focused on entrepreneurship, financial freedom, and testimonies of individuals who overcame obstacles they faced within their communities.  Students got a chance to speak with elected officials and personalities from the Atlanta Metro area.  The picture was taken with Greg Street, a famous radio personality in Atlanta. Students are (from left) Cynthia De La Cruz, Tai Vann, Roderick Rhodes, Dominic Miglionico, Cynthia Richmonde, Angie Martinez, Kenia Romero, and Mohammed Saleh.

Business Students Practice Entrepreneurship

The Introduction to Business students planned and participated in a Mock Wedding, as a culminating real-world activity for their Entrepreneurship and Leadership units.  Students created businesses that could be used in an actual wedding.  Businesses were set up as sole proprietorships and included jewelry, shoes, web design, catering, bridal, photography, florist, printing, and even marriage counseling, etc…  Major components of each company were development of mission and vision statements and a utilization of business and management functions.  The Mock Wedding ended with a catered reception from Kroger, Ippolito's, and Olive Garden.  A grand time was had by all of the participants.

(Pictured are several business students in their roles for the Mock Wedding with Mock Bride Nicol Buenrostro and  Mock Groom Greg Zelenko.)
