TV Anchor Inspires Career Tech Students

to Focus on Goals

 

  

 

 

 

The Career Technology Student Organizations (FBLA, HOSA, Skills USA, JROTC, TSA) along with 21^st Century Leaders held their second Speaker Forum last week.  The featured speaker was Anthony Amey of WSB-TV/Channel 2 where he is a sports anchor and reporter.  Mr. Amey told students to stay focused on their goals and to strive for what they want to do in life, even if people try to sway them away from their passion.  Mr. Amey was presented with a certificate of appreciation by FBLA Officers, Caitlin Colenburg and Oswin Nwabude.

CHS Welcomes Over 300 Students to

District Honor Chorus

 

October 30^th and 31^st Centennial hosted the 2015 District Honor Chorus, welcoming over 300 4^th-12^th grade students to our campus to work with well-known choral clinicians. Centennial students selected to sing in the High School ensemble (pictured top L to R) were Joseph Scott, Justin Htay, Genevieve Rowlands, Lauren Spaeth, (Ms. Burney), Emmaline Wellborn, Anna Hansil, Robin Lehmann, and Sydney Floyd. In addition Centennial Band and Orchestra provided instrumentalists to accompany the high school choir at the concert.

 

National Technical Honor Society

Inducts High Achievers

NTHS welcomed new members at their induction ceremony on Oct. 21, 2015. These new NTHS members have an excellent record of classroom achievement plus involvement in the Career Tech Student Organizations. NTHS members (pictured here with new inductees) include Genevieve McDonald, Andrew Phillips, Mira Shah, Mary Stephens, Madelyn Stone, Abilail Bergman, Rebecca Bradley, Emily Broach, Calli Capron, Mason Daugherty, Meghan Dougherty, Sydney Harries, Jaron Longo, Olivia McDonnold, Benjamin Pfeifer, Grace Smith, Anna Teffeteller, Elika Upadhyay, Ryan Green, and Rohan Raju.

 

 

 

Band Concert Features 425 Students

Last night over 425 students from Centennial, Haynes Bridge and Holcomb Bridge performed together in the CHS gym!

 

 

 

 

 

Model UN Brings Home Awards

       

 

Centennial's Model United Nations team brought home the Award of Merit from the Southern United States Model United Nations Conference in Atlanta this past weekend.  Additionally, Mateen Saki, Jerome Yankee, Gideon Horwitz, Christine Pang, Mason Gay, Karla Chavez, Conner Evans, Rachel Howell, Brittany Hellier, Hannah Kitzmiller, and Anna Reyes all brought home individual honors.

 

 

CHS Students Tour Georgia State University

 

To culminate a fantastic College Week, 75 Centennial students attended an information session combined with a campus tour at Georgia State University.

CHS Students Visit Atlanta University Center

To celebrate College Week, Centennial took 47 students to the Atlanta University Center to visit three colleges:  Spellman, Morehouse and Clark Atlanta.  The students had the opportunity to visit the campuses plus learn the history surrounding the three colleges.
