On Monday, the CHS group “Leaders for Change” attended the “Don’t Touch The Fire Symposium” along with a few hundred kids from around the county that were there to be inspired to become great thinkers and leaders.  There were inspirational speakers and small group discussions that focused on entrepreneurship and financial freedom, as well as testimonies of individuals who overcame obstacles they faced within their communities.  Students got a chance to speak with elected officials and personalities from the Atlanta Metro area.  The picture includes the famous Atlanta radio personality Greg Street.

The students are: Cynthia De La Cruz, Tai Vann, Roderick Rhodes, Dominic Miglionico, Cynthia Richmonde, Angie Martinez, Kenia Romero, and Mohammed Saleh

CHS Students Visit UGA

On Tuesday, Coach Baker and Coach Weigand took 22 AVID students and 6 students from Mrs. Freeman's Closing the Gap group to the University of Georgia. They visited the Athletic Facility and Museum in the morning, stopped by the famous UGA creamery for a snack, and toured the campus with current UGA students. After this fun filled morning, they feasted on an all-you-can-eat lunch at the Village Summit dining hall where they could build their own pizza, pasta, burgers, desserts and smoothies.

World-Famous Cellist Visits Centennial

On Wednesday, March 25, 2015 world-famous concert cellist Lynn Harrell performed a Cello Master Class for over 400 students from Centennial, Alpharetta, Cambridge, Johns Creek, Northview and Tri-Cities High School in the CHS auditorium. During the master class, he worked with three area HS student cellists and then played for the students and talked about his career as a concert cellist. It was an incredible opportunity for our students to share as he was in town performing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
