Students Prepare for Robotics Competition

Students interested in learning to build VEX robots are part of a seminar held in Centennial Engineering's Robotics room. A majority of the students in this year's seminar are Technical Student Association members who are using this time to work on competition robots and practice with this year's TSA engineering challenge specifications for competition. Our goal is to place at State and travel to the TSA National Competition. Let's go Centennial Engineers!!

International Night Celebrates Diversity

Thursday evening over 100 people enjoyed International Night as Centennial celebrated cultural diversity with food, fun, and festivities from 18 countries:  Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Russia, Ukraine, India, Brazil, Haiti, Senegal, Kenya, Cameroon, Laos, USA, Peru, Colombia, and Uruguay.

Centennial’s JROTC presented America’s flag, and the chorus sang the National Anthem.  Performances included students demonstrating a mixed Latin dance and Urban Village Media performing a Capoeira demonstration (Afro Brazil martial arts dance).  Participants had the opportunity to support Centennial and our ESOL families while expressing pride in their cultures.

Mentor Seminar Kicks Off With Great Success

Tuesday morning Ms. Jiram and Dr. Harris kicked off the first of many seminars geared to inspire, motivate, and mentor a select group of students at Centennial. Our students are enthusiastic to be a part of this one of a kind seminar and look forward to receiving additional support from athletes, former students, and organizations such as the Atlanta Dream and State Farm.

Today's guest speaker, Markeith Wood, is the parent of a former Centennial graduate, Malik Wood. Mr. Wood has been a mentor for 19 years and is the founder of storiboardnation.com, an online social network that provides students with the opportunity to connect with mentors around the world in a cool space.
