Fire and Rescue Career

John Wesley Wright knows exactly how he will spend his career: as a firefighter.  As a member of the Dekalb Fire and Rescue Explorers group,  John spent last weekend in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at the Alabama Fire College.  Along with his fellow explorers, John experienced repelling from a 15 story building, climbing a 75 foot ladder, and using special gear for a necessary forcible entrance. The future firefighters were all suited up in protective gear and even had a lesson in crawling , without visibility, through a burning building to locate an injured victim.
