Jacob Takes First Place County Science Fair

Nathan Jacob was awarded first place in the Fulton County Regional Science and Engineering Fair and will be competing at the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair in April with his project, “A Natural and Efficient Solution to Thrombophilia.”  Nathan says he “looked to find a better, natural anticoagulant that could treat thrombophilia better that the pharmaceutical version.”  He “tested blood clots against different natural solutions and discovered that the horse chestnut solution produced safer and better results than the pharmaceutical.” The picture above was taken at the regional fair on February 20th.

Harlem Globetrotters Visit Centennial to Celebrate Our Exceptional Students

Two members of the Harlem Globetrotters came to Centennial last Tuesday to help kickoff Exceptional Children’s Month. The Globetrotters put on an exhibition with wheelchair athletes from BlazeSports that was featured on Fox’s Good Day Atlanta. Several of our CBI students had the opportunity to use some of the chairs and get on the floor with the Globetrotters. Later in the day the two Globetrotters gave a great talk to our students about their CARE initiative and character education. They also talked about their lives and how a positive attitude has helped them to be successful in their lives.  You can find a gallery of photos here: Globetrotters with CBI kids
