Johnson Wins National Achievement Scholarship

 

 

 

Congratulations to Evan Johnson who was selected as the winner of a National Achievement $2500 Scholarship.  More than 160,000 students who took the 2012 PSAT/NMSQT entered the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program and also requested consideration in the National Achievement Program, in which only Black Americans participate. Last fall, some 1600 participants were named Semifinalists.  Approximately 1300 of them fulfilled requirements necessary to become Finalists.  All winners of the more than 800 National  Achievement Scholarships, worth about $2.5 million, are being chosen from the group of outstanding Finalists.
